WHS boys’ soccer team opens section tourney today

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington boys’ soccer team earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Section 2A tournament.

The Trojans will host 13th-seeded Marshall today, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The winner will face either Willmar or Hutchinson.

Meanwhile, Southwest Christian is the No. 6 seed and will host 11th-seeded New Ulm today at 4 p.m.

The winner will play Mankato West or New Prague.

The second round is on Thursday.

The Worthington girls’ soccer team is the No. 11 seed in the section. The Trojans will travel to sixth-seeded Waseca on Tuesday, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The winner of the Worthington/Waseca game will face the winner of Fairmont and Mankato Loyola.

The second round will be on Saturday.
