Letter: Honor Flight guardian awed by experience

What a privilege and honor it was to be on the fourth and final Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight.

What a privilege and honor it was to be on the fourth and final Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight. It was an awesome experience to be traveling with 109 World War II veterans and 55 guardians.

When I received the call a few months ago that I was selected to be a guardian, I was excited and a little apprehensive. I had never done anything like this before. The executive committee members calmed all my fears.

I am proud to say I was a small part of this incredible flight. It is definitely an experience I will never forget. It didn’t really sink in until I was driving home on Sunday what I had just experienced. I was among 109 members of the Greatest Generation, the World War II veterans. Thank you, veterans, for your service.
