Musa finishes 12th in cross country meet

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Running against some of the toughest competition across the Midwest, Worthington’s Mubarik Musa finished 12th at the Nike Heartland Regional cross country meet on Sunday.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Running against some of the toughest competition across the Midwest, Worthington’s Mubarik Musa finished 12th at the Nike Heartland Regional cross country meet on Sunday.

Musa, a senior who recently competed in the Minnesota State High School League Class AA meet, finished in 15 minutes, 52 seconds in the boys’ championship.

Tony Smoragiewicz won the race with a time of 15:19.

Worthington’s Matt Jirele ran a time of 18.34 and finished 97th in the boys’ open race.

Teammate Amanuel Fissiha was 109th in 18:41.
