Worthington finishes 7th at invitational

BLUE EARTH — The Worthington wrestling team finished seventh at the Blue Earth Invitational Saturday and had seven wrestlers place in the top-6 individually.

Worthington finished with 91 team points. Jackson County Central won the invitational with 248.5 points.

Jared Kinley finished second in the 138-pound weight class. He went 2-1 with two pins.

Anthony Luft (2-1, two pins) and Emmanuel Martinez (2-1, one pin) took third at 106 and 220 pounds, respectively.

Zach Kempema (2-2) and Carson Hagen (2-2, one pin) finished fourth at the 160 and 182-pound weight class, respectively.

Jacob Clarke finished fifth in the 145-pound weight class. He went 2-2 with a pin.

Blake Schroeder finished sixth in the 170-pound weight class. He went 1-3 with a pin.

The Trojans have a triangular meet against Luverne and Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin in Worthington Thursday.

Pipestone 54, T-M-B/W-WG 21

TRACY — The Pipestone Area wrestling team defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday.

The Arrows won 10 of the 14 weight classes. 103-pounder Nathan Westfield, 120-pounder Elijah Everson, 126-pounder Cole Nordmeyer and 132-pounder Walker Kor all recorded pins for Pipestone Area. Matt Haraldson recorded a tech fall at 182 pounds for the Arrows.

Of TMB/WWG’s four wins, 113-pounder Logan Axford, 160-pounder Austin Peterson and 195-pounder Brad Schmidt all recorded pins.
