Obituary: Dorothy Kuhl

Dorothy Margaret Kuhl, age 90, of Adrian, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Country Living Cottages in Adrian.

Dorothy Margaret Kuhl, age 90, of Adrian, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Country Living Cottages in Adrian. She was born April 13, 1921 in Sioux Falls, SD; to parents John and Bertha (Ritter) Wagner. One of her favorite things to do as a young child was to visit her Wagner grandparent’s farm. She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD; in 1939. After her schooling she lived in San Francisco, CA; and worked as a waitress and later bookkeeping in a bank before returning to Sioux Falls working as a bookkeeper.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Oscar (Bud) Kuhl on September 19, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD. They lived in Wilmont all their married years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont, WCCW, Catholic Daughters of America and a communion minister. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, RSVP and a charter member of the Worthington Hospital Auxiliary and the Elks Club.

Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling, volunteering and going to casinos.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Rodney & Vickie Kuhl, Rumford, ME; Valerie & Jim Sandham, Spring, TX; Marilyn & Glenn Reuter, Adrian; Nancy & Rick Hencier, Vernon Hills, IL; Sandy & Rick Kehrwald, Bloomington, MN; Joe & Danette Kuhl, Dublin, OH; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on June 15, 1996 and one infant son Thomas.Memorials are preferred to Macular Degeneration or the Catholic Daughters of America in Wilmont for the Pro Life Foundation.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, Adrian.

The service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, Adrian, with Father Timothy Hall officiating. Burial will be 1 PM Tuesday in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Wilmont.
