PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Burmeister’s 22 points and 19 rebounds lift Jackson County Central in double OT

JACKSON — It took two overtimes, but Jackson County Central’s girls’ basketball team was able to knock off Fairmont 56-55.

JACKSON — It took two overtimes, but Jackson County Central’s girls’ basketball team was able to knock off Fairmont 56-55.

A Whitney Burmeister 3-pointer from about 25 feet away from the basket at the end of the first overtime kept the game alive for JCC (9-7).

Burmeister led the Huskies with 22 points, 19 rebounds, six blocks, four steals and four assists, while her sister, Kaylee, added nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Marita Rasche added nine points and eight rebounds and Julia Schumann added six steals and four assists for the Huskies.

Megan Roloff (15 points) and Kayla Lardy (11 points) led the way for Fairmont (8-6).

JCC will host Redwood Valley today.

Lakeview 66, Edgerton 60

COTTONWOOD — Edgerton’s girls’ basketball team went to overtime with Lakeview, but the Lakers were too much for the Flying Dutchmen Monday.

Lindsey Drooger had 15 points, 15 rebounds and six assists and Tanner Gunnink had 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Sarah Post and Breana Van Dyke each chipped in nine points for Edgerton (7-5).

Sarah Berg had 23 points, Emily Swenson had 14 points and Lyndsey Petersen had 11 points to lead Lakeview.

Edgerton will host Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Thursday.

Adrian 53, Windom 47

ADRIAN — Adrian led by as much as 17 points, but Windom closed the gap before the Dragons pulled away in girls’ basketball action Monday.

Nichole Loosbrock had 16 points and Rachel Kontz had 10 points to lead Adrian (9-4).

Abby Hayenga and Gina Hauge each scored 13 points for Windom (3-11).

Adrian travels to Jeffers Thursday to take on Red Rock Central and Windom hosts Worthington Friday in Windom.

TYLER — Kaylie Nielsen had 27 points and six rebounds and Kristin Knudsen had 10 points and five rebounds to lead Russell-Tyler-Ruthon (4-7) in girls’ basketball action Monday.

Jenna Ness had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Taylor Schreier had 10 points and five steals and Kristi Bose had eight points to lead Murray County Central.

R-T-R will be on the road versus Dawson-Boyd and MCC will take on Southwest Star Concept Thursday.

IVANHOE — Ellsworth used 18 points from Bridgit Kramer and 11 points from Alissa Walters to pick up the girls’ basketbll victory Monday.
