WINDOM — The Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin wrestling team snapped Adrian’s seven meet win streak by defeating the Dragons 36-24 on Tuesday.
The Cobras won nine of the 14 weight classes and had three pins on the night.
W/MLBO’s 170-pounder Matt Willaby pinned Adrian’s Justin Elias 39 seconds into the match, 195-pounder Vincent Johnson pinned Dragon Alex Vasquez at 2:56 and heavyweight Neil Litfin pinned Jake Diekman at 3:47.
The Dragons also had three pins on the night. 120-pounder Jayden Bullerman pinned Wyatt Stevens at the 3:21 mark, 126-pounder Nate Loosbrock pinned Jacob Suess at 1:25 and 220-pounder Adam Garms pinned Aaron Flatgard at the 1:59 mark.
All of the other wins on the night came by decision.
W/MLBO won five straight matches starting at the 138-pound weight class with a decision by John Boyd and ending at the 170-pound weight class with Willaby.
The Cobras (11-3) take on Redwood Valley/Cedar Mountain on Friday, while Adrian (10-7) take on Owatonna and Woodbury Central (Iowa) on Saturday.
