PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Ackerman leads Central Lyon over George-Little Rock

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — Central Lyon (9-11) beat George-Little Rock (6-15) 54-48 in boys’ basketball action Tuesday behind 20 points from Ross Ackerman, 12 points from Kyler Huisman and 10 points from Jaren Schrick. Tanner VerSteeg had 15 points, Eric Schilling had 14 points and Matt Nagel had 11 points for G-LR.

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — Central Lyon (9-11) beat George-Little Rock (6-15) 54-48 in boys’ basketball action Tuesday behind 20 points from Ross Ackerman, 12 points from Kyler Huisman and 10 points from Jaren Schrick.

Tanner VerSteeg had 15 points, Eric Schilling had 14 points and Matt Nagel had 11 points for G-LR.

CL will close the regular season Friday at Sheldon and G-LR will do the same when it hosts Boyden-Hull Friday.

SLAYTON — Chris Halbur, Trent Carlson and Nate Wieneke each netted 18 points to lead Murray County Central’s boys’ basketball team over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Monday.

MCC (9-7) will host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday and R-T-R (14-6) will travely to Canby Thursday.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Southwest Minnesota Christian took down Western Christian 57-39 Saturday at Augustana.

Dominic Nibbelink had 15 points, six assists, three rebounds and three steals to lead SWC (16-1). Zach Huisken added 13 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four assists, Keeran Sampson netted 10 points, including two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to bust the game open, and Andrew Top notched six points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Eagles.

Western Christian was led by 7-footer Mading Thok (17 points) and Taylor Feenstra (nine points).

SWC will host Adrian Thursday.
