PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Springman scores 28 points to lead Adrian over Murray County Central 58-49

SLAYTON — Sydne Springman led all scorers with 28 points, while Nichole Loosbrock and Austyn Thier each scored eight points to lead Adrian’s girls’ basketball team over Murray County Central 58-49 Monday night in a Red Rock Conference showdown.

SLAYTON — Sydne Springman led all scorers with 28 points, while Nichole Loosbrock and Austyn Thier each scored eight points to lead Adrian’s girls’ basketball team over Murray County Central 58-49 Monday night in a Red Rock Conference showdown.

Jenna Ness had 19 points and Taylor Schreier had 10 points to lead MCC (12-8, 10-5).

Adrian (16-6, 10-5) will travel to Edgerton Thursday and MCC will travel to Fulda Monday.

TRACY — It took overtime, but Jackson County Central (15-9) was able to knock off Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Monday in girls’ basketball action behind 23 points, 16 rebounds, six steals and five blocks from Whitney Burmeister and seven points each from Angela Handzus and Marita Rasche (five rebounds, four assists, fours steals, four blocks).

Kate Johnston had 13 points to lead T-M-B.

JCC will host Worthington Thursday.

RRC 58, Ellsworth 44

ELLSWORTH — Cassie Erickson had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Klarissa Larsen had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Katie Larsen had four points and 14 rebounds and Melanie Kedl had 10 points to lead Red Rock Central (4-18, 3-11) over Ellsworth (9-11, 7-8) in Red Rock Conference girls’ basketball action Monday.

Amber Walkowaik had 16 points and seven rebounds, Bridget Kramer had 21 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists and Alexa Huisman had seven points and two blocks to lead EHS.

RRC will host Southwest Star Concept Thursday and EHS will be at Southwest Christian Thursday.

Edgerton 67, LHI 34

IVANHOE — Lindsey Drooger had 24 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, Breana Van Dyke had 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Tanner Gunnink had 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead Edgerton (14-7) over Lincoln H I Monday in girls’ basketball action.

Edgerton will be at Adrian Thursday.

BUTTERFIELD — Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin (4-18) was led by Rachel Dukes (14 points) and Paige Brown (12 points) in the girls’ basketball game Monday night.

ML/B-O will host Westbrook-Walnut Grove today.
