PREP WRESTLING: Huskies aim for third-straight state title after winning section championship

JACKSON — The Jackson County Central wrestling team advanced to the state tournament after clinching the Section 2A title Saturday.

The Huskies, who are in pursuit of their third-straight state title, defeated Maple River 59-7 to win the section championship.

Cameron Henning, Paden Moore, Luke Norland, Darick Vancura and Alex Tewes all recorded pins in the victory.

Cooper Moore and Jack Ziemer got forfeits, Eliot Jurries won by technical fall, while Devin Phaley, Keegan Moore, Pat Hanson and Kyle Edwards all won by decision.

JCC beat Blooming Prairie 79-0 in the section quarterfinals before defeating New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva 56-11 in the semifinals.

Henning, Keegan Moore, Paden Moore, Norland, Vancura, Cooper Moore, Edwards and Tewes all went 3-0 on the day for the Huskies.
