Letter: A case of misplaced priorities

You can’t judge a book by its cover. You can’t judge a legislative bill by its title.

You can’t judge a book by its cover. You can’t judge a legislative bill by its title. The Respect for Marriage Act bill has been voted on by the Senate Judiciary Committee to put the bill out on the floor of the Senate by a vote of 10-8. The title sounds supportive of traditional marriage, but it is not.

Now take note that the U.S. Senate hasn’t presented the American people with a budget for three years, but one of its top priorities is to make sure that marriage is redefined and nondiscriminatory toward those involved in the same sex marriage movement. So, you know how the average American rates.
