WORTHINGTON — Members of Sen. Al Franken’s staff will be in Worthington Wednesday as part of the senator’s Farm Bill Outreach Tour.

Staffers will meet with local farmers, ranchers and agriculture officials to discuss the upcoming Senate debate over the 2012 Farm Bill at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Room 210 (in the administration building) at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, 1450 Collegeway.

Franken wants input from Minnesotans on the key sections of the bill.

“The Senate will begin hearings and debate on the 2012 Farm Bill in the coming weeks, and I want to hear from Minnesota farmers, ranchers and agriculture officials about this important legislation,” Franken said. “My staff will be in Worthington to meet with local officials, farmers and farm leaders, bring them up to date on what is happening in Washington and get input and ideas about how best to ensure the farm bill works for Minnesota.”
