PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Windom, Pipestone Area move on in Section 3AA

WORTHINGTON — The Windom girls’ basketball team upset Jackson County Central in the first round of the Section 3AA South tournament Saturday. The No. 7 seed Eagles (3-20) defeated the No. 2 seed Huskies (15-10) 61-56 in Jackson.

WORTHINGTON — The Windom girls’ basketball team upset Jackson County Central in the first round of the Section 3AA South tournament Saturday.

The No. 7 seed Eagles (3-20) defeated the No. 2 seed Huskies (15-10) 61-56 in Jackson.

Windom advances to the second round of the tournament where it will play No. 3 seed Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. in Jackson on Tuesday.

The Pipestone Area girls’ basketball team also advanced to the second round of the tournament.

The No. 5 seed Arrows (10-14) defeated No. 4 seed Martin County West (14-10) 46-32 in Sherburn Saturday night.

The Arrows take on No. 1 seed Worthington at 6 p.m. in Jackson Tuesday night.
