Food Safety courses offered
WORTHINGTON — University of Minnesota Extension will offer two courses to help food service establishments meet the educational requirement for Certified Food Managers.
WORTHINGTON — University of Minnesota Extension will offer two courses to help food service establishments meet the educational requirement for Certified Food Managers.
The initial certification course, using the ServSafe curriculum, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., April 25 at the Biotechnology Advancement Center, Worthington. The test will follow at 4:30 p.m. Participants must attend all day to take the certification exam. This course includes information about safe food preparation, handling, sanitation and prevention of foodborne illnesses. Registration deadline is April 11.
Serve It Up Safely is a four-hour renewal course for certified managers. Certified Food Managers need four hours of continuing education credits within three years of becoming certified. The Serve It Up Safely course will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m., April 24 at the Biotechnology Advancement Center. Registration is due April 10.
