PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Quasars pull upset in OT
NORTHROP — Not all games were cancelled Tuesday, as No. 6 seed Southwest Star Concept upset No. 3 seed Martin Luther 55-53 in overtime in Section 2A girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

SSC’s Connor DeWall hit a shot with one second left in regulation to send the game to overtime.
DeWall had 10 points and nine rebounds for SSC (5-19), while Courtney Place had 25 points — including four 3-pointers in the second half — and Sarah Baumgard had 11 points and five rebounds to help lead the Quasars.
SSC will travel to Springfield to take on No. 2 seed Springfield at 7 p.m. Friday in the sub-section semifinals.

SPRINGFIELD — No. 7 seed Red Rock Central fell to No. 2 seed Springfield in the quarterfinals of the Section 2A girls’ basketball playoffs Tuesday.
Red Rock Central was led by Brooke Rasmussen (13 points, six assists), Klarissa Larsen (13 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks) and Tegan Derickson (12 points) and RRC closed the season at 7-19 overall.
Springfield, which moved to 16-7 overall with the victory Tuesday, will host No. 6 seed Southwest Star Concept at 7 p.m. Friday in the sub-section semifinals.
