SPRINGFIELD — Southwest Star Concept fell to No. 2 seed Springfield in the South Sub-Section semifinals of Section 2A 50-41 Friday in girls’ basketball action.
The Quasars went scoreless through the first six minutes of play in the second half and never recovered.
Courtney Place had 17 points, Sarah Baumgard had nine points and nine rebounds, Connor DeWall had seven points and 15 rebounds and Arianna Hesemann had six points and seven rebounds to lead SSC (5-20).
