Letter: Why can't we elect a county administrator?

What happened? I thought at one time the position of Nobles County Administrator was an elected one — at least I thought so.

What happened? I thought at one time the position of Nobles County Administrator was an elected one — at least I thought so. I could be wrong, but if it was, let’s get it back on the ballot. An appointment is just a sure thing and never changes.

I’m sure if it were put on the ballot, there would be a lot of other people interested in the job. And, Nobles County wouldn’t be the laughing stock of southwest Minnesota.

Mr. Ruppert has had his hand in the loss of some very good people. For example, some years back, members of the VFW and American Legion asked county commissioners (to no avail) to keep the county VA director — a very good man — but he is no longer with the county.

Mr. Anderson’s letter (March 13) should have opened a lot of people’s eyes in Nobles County. Should “do it my way or get out” be the policy this county will follow all the time?

Ms. Cenzano’s treatment, along with that of many others, was wrong. An apology would be nice.

Read on, people. I’m sure we’ll see more letters to the editor on this subject. And commissioners, take heed of what’s happening around you. Changes need to be made; more jobs may be in jeopardy.
