JACKSON — The Jackson County Central softball team won its season opener Monday in a 7-0 decision over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin.
Pitcher Brooke Klontz had the complete game shutout. She allowed just two hits, walked two batters and struck out 12 batters.
JCC’s Jasmine Erickson went 2-for-2 with a walk and a two-RBI double in the fourth inning. Erickson also scored a run for the Huskies.
Jenna Stade went 2-for-3 with two singles and a stolen base for JCC.
ML/B-O was led by Janessa Peters, who had a double for the Wolverines.
JCC’s next game is April 10 at home against Redwood Valley. The Huskies are now 1-0 on the season.
ML/B-O’s next game is today against Madelia/Truman. The Wolverines dropped to 0-1 on the year.
