PREP BASEBALL: LHS tops AHS in season opener for both teams

ADRIAN — In the season opener for each team, it was the Luverne baseball team that came out on top Tuesday 7-4 over Adrian.

The Cardinals’ Cody Christensen pitched three innings, picking up the win for Luverne.

Logan Rogers pitched the first three innings for Adrian and held them to one earned run, but eventually took the loss. Mitchell Sieve pitched the final four innings for the Dragons (0-1).

Adrian was led by Sieve and Rogers, who each had two hits.

Luverne was led by Christensen’s two hits and Richard Gonzalez’s two hits, including one triple.

The Dragon’s next game is Thursday against Jackson County Central, while Luverne plays Redwood Valley on April 14.
