PREP BOYS' AND GIRLS' GOLF ROUNDUP: Fulda girls and MCC boys win Murray County Central golf triangular

SLAYTON — Boys’ and girls’ golf teams from Murray County Central, Fulda and Westbrook-Walnut Grove competed in a triangular tournament Tuesday.
For girls, Fulda took first place with a team score of 213.
MCC took second place with a team score of 219. Hannah Davis shot a 51, Kirbie Tedrick shot a 55, Haleigh Clark shot a 56 and Liz Prahm shot a 57 for the Rebels.
W-WG played with an incomplete team, thus taking third. Abby Herding shot a 51 and Paige Erickson shot a 65.
MCC’s Davis and W-WG’s Herding tied to take the runner-up titles, while a golfer from Fulda took first after shooting a 50.
For boys, MCC took first in the team’s first competition ever, as this is the first year the Rebels have had a boys’ golf team.
MCC’s team score was a 168. Adam Christensen shot a 38, Ben Loosbrock shot a 42, Devin Erickson shot a 44 and Grant Everson also shot a 44 for the Rebels.
Fulda took second place with a team score of 176.
W-WG took third place with a team score of 179. Dana Madson shot a 40, Taylor Lindaman shot a 44, Nick Lehnhoff shot a 47 and AaronHaas shot a 48 for the Raiders.
MCC’s Christensen took the crown for the boys’ team, while W-WG’s Madson was the runner-up.
The Rebels’ next contest is Tuesday.
Spirit Lake 166, JCC 179 (boys)
BROOKS, Iowa—The Jackson County Central boys’ golf team dropped its meet against Spirit Lake on Tuesday.
Joe Brinkman led the Huskies with a 40, earning a runner-up medal. Kyle Edlin shot a 45, Jack Ringkob shot a 45, Kyle Christopher shot a 47, Kyle Kapplinger shot a 47 and John Marker shot a 51 for JCC.
The Huskies’ next meet is on April 16 against Fairmont.
JCC 187, Spirit Lake 198 (girls)
OKOBOJI, Iowa—The Jackson County Central girls’ golf team defeated Spirit Lake in a golf meet Tuesday.
Kaylee Benson was the medalist, shooting a 39 on the afternoon. Emma Lilleberg shot a 48, Alison Benson shot a 49, Lexie Hoffman shot a 51, Abby Benson shot a 53 and Shelby Benson shot a 54.
The Huskies’ next meet is on April 16 against Fairmont.
RRC 181, SWU 233
WORTHINGTON—Red Rock Central boys’ golf team defeated Southwestern United in a meet at Prarie View Golf Links on Tuesday.
RRC’s Jordan Smith was the medalist, shooting a 41 on the day.
The Falcons’ Brandon Sohre shot a 45, Maison Miller shot a 46, Casey Engen shot a 49, Skyler Vold shot a 54 and Zach Valentin shot a 56 for RRC.
SWU’s Kyle Wedlund shot a 48, Logan Ellenbecker shot a 51, Collin Meinders shot a 54 and Lee Marki shot an 80 for the Wildcats.
