ADRIAN – In the Red Rock Conference opener for each team, the Murray County Central baseball team defeated Adrian 7-1 on Tuesday.
MCC’s Sam Erickson threw a complete game, allowing one run on one hit, striking out six and walking one.
Logan Rogers started for Adrian and pitched 5 2/3 innings. He allowed five runs on six hits and struck out three. Mitchell Sieve and Nate Loosbrock were the relievers.
At the plate for MCC (1-0), Nate Wieneke was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Ryan Erickson had a double and Chris Halibur had a hit, a walk, was hit by a pitch and stole three bases.
For Adrian (0-3), Sieve hit a single to break up the no-hitter in the sixth inning.
Adrian plays Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin on Thursday, while MCC takes on Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Friday.

MOUNTAIN LAKE – The Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin baseball team defeated Edgerton/Southwest Christian on Tuesday.
Blake Spinks picked up the win for the Wolverines (1-0). He tossed five innings, struck out three, walked three and gave up one run on four hits.
At the plate for ML/B-O, Cody Penner was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double, Spinks was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two singles, Carter Kirk was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two singles and Andrew Hempeck was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two singles.
Travis Pierson pitched for E/SWC (0-2). He tossed two innings, giving up six runs — four earned.
At the plate, the Flying Dutchmen’s four hits came from Dominic Nibbelink, Gabe Vander Veen, Devin Jouwstra and Pierson. Andrew Top recorded the sole RBI on a groundout in the fourth inning.
ML/B-O takes on Adrian on Thursday, while E/SWC plays Southwestern United on Thursday.

LUVERNE – The Luverne baseball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Pipestone Area Tuesday.
Brett Heronimus tossed the first three innings for the Cardinals, giving up one run on two hits and striking out four. Reed Skattum tossed two innings, giving up one run on two hits.
Josh Mabon pitched for PA (1-1). He tossed four innings, giving up four runs on three hits, walking six and striking out no batters.
Luverne was led by Brady Dinger, who had the team’s first RBI on a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
Luverne’s next game is Saturday in a doubleheader against Redwood Valley. PA plays Montevideo on Saturday.

LAMBERTON – The Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove baseball team improved to 4-1 on the year with a win over Southwestern United Tuesday.
Dylan Bunting tossed a complete game for the Falcons, striking out seven, walking one, and giving up one earned run on four hits.
At the plate for RRC/W-WG, Brian Hagberg was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, Jacob Comnick was 2-for-4, Jeff DeCock was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Daniel Maras was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
For SWU (0-2), Luke Henkels was 2-for-4 with a triple.
SWU plays against Edgerton/Southwest Christian on Thursday, while RRC/W-WG plays Murray County Central on Friday.
