MOUNTAIN LAKE – A two-RBI hit by Kaleb Grev in the bottom of the seventh inning brought in the game-winning run for Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin as the Wolverines defeated Adrian 8-7 Thursday.
Matt Willaby scored the winning run for ML/B-O. Willaby had two hits on the afternoon.
Grev was 3-for-4 and Carter Kirk was 2-for-3 for the Wolverines (2-0).
For Adrian (0-4), Logan Rogers had a double, Mitchell Sieve had a single, Jake Tiede had an RBI single, Jake Diekmann had two singles and Nate Loosbrock had an RBI single.
The winning pitcher was Austin Watkins tossed 3 2/3 innings in relief, giving up no runs on two hits and striking out two.
The losing pitcher was Sieve, who tossed 6 2/3 innings, giving up eight runs on 10 hits and striking out eight.
Adrian’s next game is today against Minneota, while ML/B-O takes on Martin County West during the MCW tournament on Saturday.

HERON LAKE – The Edgerton/Southwest Christian baseball team shutout Southwestern United Thursday.
The winning pitcher was Dominic Nibbelink, who tossed a complete game for the Flying Dutchmen. He gave up no runs on six hits, walked two and struck out eight.
The losing pitcher was Jacob Post, who tossed four innints and gave up six runs. He had five strikeouts.
The Wildcats (0-3) were led by Post, who went 3-for-4 with a double at the plate.
The Flying Dutchmen (1-2) had a run scored by each starter in the lineup and six different batters with an RBI. Nibbelink was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Luke Nibbelink was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
SWU’s next game is Saturday against Fairmont in the Martin County West tournament. E/SWC plays Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Tuesday.
