Sealed Prime General Contract bids for the Worthington Center will be received by City Clerk of the City of Worthington at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 303 9th St., Worthington, Minnesota 56187 by mail or personal delivery until Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of City Hall by a bid opening committee. The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered publicly by the City Council at regularly scheduled City Council Meeting in Council Chambers, 303 9th St.
A pre-bid conference will be held Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Location of the work. The Pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all General Contractors (Project Coordinator).
Project Scope: Selective demolition and construction of new building addition. Work includes concrete and masonry, wood framed walls with an EIFS exterior finish, pre-engineered wood roof trusses with wood decking and a fully adhered EPDM roof membrane, elevator, interior finishes, mechanical work, electrical work, site work, and other work indicated in the drawings and specifications.
The Bidders shall submit the proposal on the forms provided. The Proposal shall be filled in clearly and correctly with ink or typewriter. The Proposal shall be signed in ink by the individual, members of the partnership, or by one or more officers of the corporation making the proposal.
Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of I&S Group, Incorporated at 115 East Hickory Street, Mankato, Minnesota 56001, (telephone (507) 387-6651) for a non-refundable fee of $80.00 each. For Documents that must be mailed, the total plan fee will be $95.00 each, shipping and handling included. When requesting mailed documents, please include your address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Make checks payable to I&S Group, Inc.
Drawings, specifications, and other Bidding Documents may also be obtained online at www.questcdn.com. There will be a $20.00 non-refundable downloading fee to access a pdf copy of the documents online.
All bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope upon which shall be plainly marked “BID ON WORTHINGTON CENTER - WORTHINGTON, MINNESOTA” and the name of the bidder. If a bid is to be mailed, the bid envelope shall be sealed in a regular mailing envelope. FAX and E-mail Bids will not be accepted. The Owner reserves the right to hold and consider the bids for 30 days after the date of the bid opening.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, money order, or bid bond for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Worthington, which amount shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder, upon the letting of the contract to him, shall fail to enter into the contract so let. A bidder’s bond shall include certified copy of the power of attorney.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to award the contract to the best interests of the City.
