Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility Repairs

OWNER AND WORK: The City of Worthington, Minnesota, hereinafter called the OWNER, is inviting proposals for re-construction of the existing raw wastewater lift station and new chemical feed line.

TIME AND PLACE OF BID OPENING: Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk of Worthington, Minnesota, until 2:00 p.m. on May 22, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of City Hall by a bid opening committee. The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered publicly by the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on May 29, 2012 in Council Chambers, 303 Ninth Street.

BIDDING DOCUMENTS: The Bidding Documents are on file for inspection at the Office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Worthington, MN. Contractors desiring a copy of the Proposal Forms, Plans and Specifications, may obtain them from the office of the City Engineer, P. O. Box 279, Worthington, MN 56187. A nonrefundable payment of $13.97, plus applicable sales tax, ($15.00 total) per set of plans and specifications is required at the time of purchase.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE / WALKTHROUGH: A Pre-bid Conference / Walkthrough will be held at 8:30 a.m., Local Time on the 8th day of May, 2012 at the Worthington Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant. Due to the rehabilitation of existing facilities, all potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.

BID SECURITY AND BONDS: Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, money order or bid bond for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Worthington, which amount shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder, upon the letting of the contract to him, shall fail to enter into the contract so let.

BID REJECTION / ACCEPTANCE: Before a Contract will be awarded for the project; the OWNER will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low Bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the OWNER to evaluate the Bidder's qualifications.

The right is reserved to reject all Bids or any Bids not conforming to the intent of the Contract Documents and to consider the Bid which is to the best interest of the OWNER.
