PREP SOFTBALL: Flying Dutchmen plate five in the final two innings to knock off Dragons 5-3

ELLSWORTH — Edgerton/Southwest Christian’s softball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to edge Adrian 5-3 Tuesday.

ELLSWORTH — Edgerton/Southwest Christian’s softball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to edge Adrian 5-3 Tuesday.

Breana Van Dyke struck out eight in a complete game on the mound for E/SWC. Brittani Roskamp was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a double and Van Dyke was 1-for-1 with an RBI at the plate.

Jessi Meyer pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs and striking out nine for Adrian (1-7).

Autumn Engelkes was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Rachel Kontz was 1-for-4 with a run, Heidi Nolte had an RBI and a run, Nina Weidert was 1-for-3 with a single and Sam Croat scored a run for the Dragons.

Adrian hosts Worthington Monday and E/SWC will host Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Tuesday.

LUVERNE — Ellen Dahl was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and Kristen Reisdorfer was 1-for-2 to lead Luverne’s softball team versus Brandon Valley Tuesday.

LHS will host Redwood Valley in a doubleheader Thursday.

MCC 14, SWU 2

SLAYTON — Sophie Nepp was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs and Kristi Bose was 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, three runs and two RBIs to lead Murray County Central’s softball team over Southwestern United Tuesday.

Ashley Clarke pitched three innings and Bose pitched two innings for MCC (5-3).

Janae Vonk was 1-for-1 with a single, Ida Rogers-Ferguson was 1-for2 with a run and Kassaundra Rossow was 1-for-2 with a run for SWU.

MCC will travel to Edgerton/Southwest Christian Thursday.
