PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: MCC shuts out SWU 7-0 to stay undefeated in the Red Rock Conference

HERON LAKE — Nate Wieneke was 3-for-3 with two runs and a double, Austin Kluis was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, Chris Halbur was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, Nick Petersen was 2-for-4 with a two-run single and Austin Christensen threw a complete game two-hitter, striking out eight, to lead Murray County Central’s baseball team over Southwestern United 7-0 Tuesday in the Red Rock Conference.

MCC (4-1, 4-0) hosts Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday. SWU (0-8,0-4) will host Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Friday.

Adrian 11, E/SWC 4

ADRIAN — Jake Tiede picked up the win on the mound for Adrian (4-4, 2-2), pitching five innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out four versus Edgerton/Southwest Christian in baseball action Tuesday.

Mitchell Sieve was 2-for-3, Jake Diekmann was 2-for-3 and A.J. Tiesler had a two-run double to help lead the Dragons.

Blake Jouwstra was 2-for-3 and Dominic Nibbelink was 2-for-4 to lead E/SWC (1-5, 1-4).

Adrian hosts Worthington Thursday and E/SWC will travel to Lakeview Friday.

Luverne 7, Windom 0

WINDOM — Skyler Wenninger and Nick Kittenhouse were each 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run to lead Luverne’s baseball team to an SWC victory Tuesday.

Brady Dinger, Gunnar Olson and Jeremy Reisdorfer each chipped in an RBI for Luverne and Cody Christensen went the distance on the mound for the Cardinals, striking out two, while giving up two hits in seven innings.

Danny Kneeland and Andy Pfeffer each had a hit for Windom.

LHS (6-1, 4-1) will travel to Pipestone Area Thursday and Windom (2-3, 0-2) will travel to Marshall Thursday.

LAMBERTON — Blake Spinks got a win on the mound and scored four runs, Beau Herrig was 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs and Carter Kirk was 2-for-4, clearing the bases with a triple, to lead Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin (5-3, 3-1) in baseball action Tuesday.

Daniel Maras was 3-for-5, Dylan Bunting was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Brian Hagberg was 2-for-4 to lead Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove (6-3, 2-1).

RRC/W-WG will travel to Murray County Central Thursday and ML/B-O will be at Windom Friday.

JACKSON — Jackson County Central’s baseball team all chipped in Tuesday versus Redwood Valley.

Cooper Moore (3-for-3) had two triples, two RBIs and two runs, Tanner Menke (2-for-3) had a double and an RBI, Brett Larson (2-for-3) had a double, two RBIs and two runs, Dustin Pronk (2-for-2) had three RBIs and Taylor Christopher was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs for the Huskies (3-2, 2-1).

Pronk earned the victory on the mound for JCC.

JCC will host ML/B-O Thursday.

TRACY — Reed Salmon gave up two hits and two walks, while striking out 10 in seven innings on the mound for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (4-3) versus Dawson-Boyd in baseball action Tuesday.

Braden Peterson was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Kody Kirsh was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Jordan Lanoue was 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead T-M-B.

T-M-B will be at Central Christian Thursday.
