WINDOM — The Worthington softball team swept Windom in a doubleheader Tuesday, extending its winning streak to six games.

The Trojans (7-3) won the first game of the doubleheader 12-2.

Angela Robinson tossed a complete game, striking out 11 and walking none.

Paige Kinley was 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored, Yadira Barragan was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored, Robinson was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs and Becca Linder was 2-for-3 for Worthington.

Abby Hayenga was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored both of the Eagles’ two runs.

“Angela was dynamic all-around in both games for us today,” WHS coach Sam Baumgartner said. “On the mound, she was in command the entire day. She was very controlled and pitched two smart games. At the plate, she was smacking the ball all over the field. She carried the load for us today, which is what you should expect from your senior pitcher.”

Worthington won the second game of the doubleheader 5-2.

Robinson tossed a complete game, striking out five and walking no batters.

Barragan was 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a triple and two RBIs and Robinson was 3-for-3 with a walk and a double.

Hannah Redmond picked up the loss for Windom (2-5), while Vesey was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and run scored.

Worthington’s next game is at home against Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Friday, while Windom plays Marshall on Thursday.
