MW BASEBALLL: MW drops doubleheader

WILLMAR — Minnesota West’s baseball team dropped two Wednesday versus Ridgewater. The Bluejays fell 8-3 in Game 1 and 8-5 in Game 2.

Eric Wieneke was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Adam Munkel was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for MW (2-21), but the Bluejays left 12 men on base in Game 1.

“We had untimely errors and untimely hitting,” MW coach Jeff Linder said.

Wieneke was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Mitchell Jensen was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Joey Kinley was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Jacob Laverman was 2-for-2 with two RBIs in Game 2, but MW stranded six runners and committed five errors to drop the contest.

“We had too many errors,” Linder said. “Tough to win games when you’re making mistakes in the field and can’t hit with guys on.”

MW will play Sunday at Fergus Falls.
