PREP SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Woelber throws a no-hitter, as PA remains undefeated

JACKSON — Tasia Woelber had four RBIs and threw a no-hitter in Game 1 and Paige Petersen hit a three-run homer in Game 2 to help lead Pipestone Area to a sweep of Jackson County Central in a doubleheader Thursday 10-1 and 11-1 in softball action.

JACKSON — Tasia Woelber had four RBIs and threw a no-hitter in Game 1 and Paige Petersen hit a three-run homer in Game 2 to help lead Pipestone Area to a sweep of Jackson County Central in a doubleheader Thursday 10-1 and 11-1 in softball action.

Woelber struck out 10 and walked one in the no-hitter in Game 1, while going 2-for-3 with a run at the plate to go along with her four RBIs. Cassie Evans was 3-for-4 with two runs and Kelly Nettick was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer to help lead the Arrows (6-0) in Game 1.

In Game 2, Evans was 2-for-3 with three runs, Megan Remund was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Petersen was 2-for-2 to go along with her three-run homer and Mikayla Enger was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI to lead PA.

Marita Rasche was 2-for-3 with a solo homer to lead JCC (4-6).

JCC plays Thursday at Worthington and Pipestone Area will take on Windom Monday.

EDGERTON — Ciara Everett hit a two-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift Edgerton/Southwest Christian to a 10-9 win over Murray County Central in softball action Thursday.

Jessica Menning was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Tara DeKam was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and Breana Van Dyke, Tanner Gunnink and Sarah Post were each 2-for-4 for E/SWC (10-1).

Jade Giese was 3-for-4, Kenda Blomgren was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and Kristi Bose was 2-for-4 to lead MCC (5-4).

E/SWC will host ML/B-O Tuesday.

TRACY — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton cruised in softball action Thursday behind three hits from Ashley Daniels, two hits from Kate Johnston and a hit from Jenny Welu.

SWU (1-9) was led by two hits from Alaina Klingenberg.

SWU will take on Martin County West today.

LUVERNE — Luverne dropped a doubleheader to Redwood Valley in softball action Thursday.

Ellen Dahl was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, Macy Edwards was 4-for-5 with two runs and two doubles and Kristen Reisdorfer was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs in Game 1 for Luverne (6-6).

In Game 2, Dahl was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, Reisdorfer was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Ashley Otten was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Cardinals.

Luverne will take on Marshall Tuesday.
