HERON LAKE — The Southwestern United baseball team remains winless after dropping a 10-8 contest to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Friday night.
Riley Place picked up the loss for the Wildcats, tossing 5 2/3 innings, giving up 10 runs – four earned – on nine hits, striking out five and walking six.
At the plate, Eric Jass was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Austin Liepold was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Jacob Post was 2-for-3 with an RBI for SWU.
The Wildcats (0-9) take on Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain at home on Monday.

TRACY — The Murray County Central baseball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Friday.
Chris Halbur was the winning pitcher for the Rebels, he tossed six innings and gave up one hit. Ryan Erickson came in to toss the seventh inning, picking up the save.
The losing pitcher for T-M-B was Reed Salmon.
At the plate, Halbur was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double, while Erickson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rebels.
JC DeWitte had the Panthers’ only hit.
MCC’s next game is Tuesday against Adrian, while T-M-B takes on Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Monday.
