Obituary: Earl Kruse

Earl William Kruse, 82, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.

Earl William Kruse, 82, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born on March 7, 1930, in Worthington, Minnesota to Herman and Gladys (Satre) Kruse. He graduated from Worthington High School and then attended Worthington Junior College. He then served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. In 1957 he married Corrine Rohwedder and they later divorced. He was employed for NSP in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a number of years and then moved to Red Wing in 1969 where he worked for NSP until his retirement. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post and the Burnson-Lillyblad #1218 VFW. His family recalls his love of hunting.

Survivors include two grandsons, Shane Kruse of Farmington and Shaun Kruse of Cambridge; one daughter, Diane (Chuck) Pelant of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Christine Ahlers, Daniel Ahlers and Theresa Baartman; six great grandchildren, Mason, Courtney, Carson, Gage, Blake and Calen. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Tom and two brothers and one granddaughter, Cheryl.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Worthington with full military honors provided by the American Legion and VFW Post Honor Guard of Worthington.
