PREP BOYS' AND GIRLS' GOLF ROUNDUP: Windom golf teams take home 1st place at 8-team invites

FULDA — Windom took home the crown in the eight-team, 18-hole Fulda Invitational Tuesday in girls’ golf action.

FULDA — Windom took home the crown in the eight-team, 18-hole Fulda Invitational Tuesday in girls’ golf action.

Windom shot a 358, defeating Fulda (372) and Murray County Central (407) for the top spot.

Megan Will shot an 85 to lead all golfers, while Kelsey Hanefield, who tied for second among all golfers, chipped in an 87, Miki Bolin added a 92 and Maitland Vollan scored a 94 for Windom.

Tessa Kramer led Fulda, scoring an 88 and finishing fourth among all golfers, while Madeline Westra, who finished fifth among all golfers, added a 91, Sarah Strenge scored a 92 and Katie Reynolds shot a 101 for the Raiders.

Hannah Davis shot a 95, Liz Prahm hit a 101, Chelsey Jurrens shot a 105 and Haleight Clarke added a 106 for MCC.

Southwest Christian’s Emaliegh Vreeman tied for second among all golfers with an 87.

Red Rock Central (418), Adrian (434), Westbrook-Walnut Grove (448), Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (467) and SWC (incomplete) rounded out the scoring.

Windom boys win W-WG Invite

WESTBROOK — Windom’s boys’ golf team was able to win the nine-hole, eight-team Westbrook-Walnut Grove Invitational Tuesday in boys’ golf action with a 161.

W-WG finished second with a 166, while Murray County Central took third with a 171.

Adam Eisenmenger finished in a tie for first among all golfers, shooting a 37 to lead Windom, while Christian Schuck and Dylan Pigman added 41s and Kyle Antes scored a 42 for the Eagles.

Dana Madson tied for first with a 37 to lead W-WG, while teammates Reed Bakken (39), who finished third among all golfers, Taylor Lindaman (45) and Nick Lehnhoff (45) each chipped in for W-WG.

Ben Loosbrock finished fifth among all golfers and led MCC with a 40, while Devin Ryan added a 42, Grant Everson chipped in a 43 and Adam Christensen rounded out the scoring for the Rebels with a 46.

Fulda’s Todd Peterson finished third among all golfers with a 39.

Fulda (175), Adrian (181), Red Rock Central (186), Southwest Christian (203) and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (204) rounded out the team scores.

JCC 173, RV 179

JACKSON — Jack Ringkob was the co-medalist for Jackson County Central’s boys’ golf squad Tuesday, shooting a 41 to lead the Huskies over Redwood Valley.

Joe Brinkman and John Marker added 43s and Kyle Christopher shot a 46 to help pace JCC (4-4, 2-2) at Jackson Golf Club.

JCC will host Red Rock Central Thursday.

JCC 181, RV 212

JACKSON — The Jackson County Central’s girls’ golf squad used it’s best dual meet score in two years to knock off Redwood Valley Tuesday.

Kaylee Benson earned medalst honors with a 38, while Emma Lilleberg added a 46, Lexie Hoffman shot a 48 and Alison Benson hit a 49 for the Huskies.

JCC will host Red Rock Central Thursday.
