Events celebrate Migratory Bird Day

WINDOM — “Wings on the Prairie,” a celebration of International Migratory Bird Day, will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Wings on the Prairie Discovery Center in rural Windom.

WINDOM — “Wings on the Prairie,” a celebration of International Migratory Bird Day, will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Wings on the Prairie Discovery Center in rural Windom.

The schedule of events includes: Early Risers Bird Walks at 6:30 and 8 a.m.; swan registration and children’s activities from 8 to 11 a.m.; Wolf Lake WPA water control structure presentation by biologist Scott Ralston at 9 a.m.; ZooMobile from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; the Trumpeter Swan release from 11:30 a.m. to noon; a bison burger lunch fundraiser from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.; raffle drawings at noon; and tour of Wolf Lake water control structure at 1 p.m.
