PREP SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: PA’s Woelber strikes out 17 in doubleheader sweep

PIPESTONE — Pipestone Area’s softball team remained undefeated in the Southwest Conference and overall on the season with a 12-2 and 13-0 thrashing of a doubleheader versus Redwood Valley Thursday.

In Game 1, Tasia Woelber got the win on the mound, striking out 11 and walking one, while Cassie Evans (3-for-5), Tiffany Woelber (3-for-4) and Paige Petersen (solo homer) each had an RBI and Mikayla Enger (3-for-4) had two RBIs for PA (10-0, 8-0).

In Game 2, Tasia Woelber got the win on the mound, striking out six and walking two, while Kelly Nettick was 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBIs at the plate for the Arrows. Petersen was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs and Tiffany Woelber was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for PA.

PA will travel to Luverne Tuesday.

BREWSTER — Breana Van Dyke struck out three and gave up one hit in five shutout innings to lead Edgerton/Southwest Christian in softball action Thursday.

Tanner Gunnink and Whitney Butson each had two hits for the Flying Dutchmen (12-1, 7-0).

Maddie Rasche had the lone hit for Southwestern United (2-12).

SWU will host Madelia today and E/SWC will host Minneota/Canby/Lincoln H I today.

SLAYTON — Michaela Hartle was 2-for-3 with a homer, a double, two runs and an RBI to lead Murray County Central’s softball team over Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday.

Jade Giese was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, Taylor Schreier was 2-for-3 with a double and Kristi Bose pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking one for the Rebels (8-4, 6-2).

RRC/W-WG was led by Katie Halter (2-for-3), Angela Hannemann (double) and Katie Larsen (double).

MCC will host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Monday.
