So much for May flowers: WHS sports, along with other area athletics, postponed Friday
WORTHINGTON — Mother Nature once again showed Friday she indeed has the power to make every person in the world stop what they’re doing and either walk outside and stare at her — which she makes hard to avoid — or intelligently take cover.

No matter if you’re a high school athlete planning on playing in a sporting event or a sports editor attempting to shave before work in a windowless bathroom, she will flood your field or court or knock the power in your apartment out, so you’re stuck going to work with only half of your face shaved due to having no other functioning mirror outside of your pitch black bathroom.
At least the sports editor wasn’t in the shower.
Friday’s Worthington baseball game at Montevideo was cancelled, Worthington’s home golf meet against Windom was postponed, as were the boys’ tennis match at Blue Earth Area and the softball game versus Brandon Valley.
Dates or whether or not postponed games will be rescheduled have not been announced.
As for other area cancellations and postponements, the doubleheader between Pipestone Area and Windom’s softball teams at Island Park has been moved to Tuesday, the baseball game between Minneota and Edgerton/Southwest Christian at Edgerton has been cancelled, the Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Jackson County Central in Jackson has been postponed, the golf meet between Sleepy Eye Saint Mary’s and Red Rock Central has been postponed, the softball game between Minneota and Edgerton/Southwest Christian at Edgerton has been cancelled and the Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove softball game at Wabasso has been moved to May 17.
Whether or not the sports editor will postpone the shaving of the other half of his face or if he will try to start a disgusting new fad has not been announced.
