PREP SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Cardinals cruise past Dragons 7-1

LUVERNE — Ellen Dahl was 2-for-2 with two runs, Erica DeBoer was 3-for-3 with a run, a double and four RBIs, Ashley Otten was 1-for-3 with a run and a double and Kristen Reisdorfer was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Luverne over Adrian Area 7-1 in softball action Monday.

LUVERNE — Ellen Dahl was 2-for-2 with two runs, Erica DeBoer was 3-for-3 with a run, a double and four RBIs, Ashley Otten was 1-for-3 with a run and a double and Kristen Reisdorfer was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Luverne over Adrian Area 7-1 in softball action Monday.

Ashley Olson got the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings and striking out 10, while walking three and giving up one earned run.

Nina Weidert was 2-for-4 and Kayla Lonneman was 2-for-3 for Adrian Area. Rachel Kontz pitched six innings, striking out seven and walking three for the Dragons.

LHS will host Pipestone Area in a doubleheader today.

SLAYTON — Jenny Welu got a complete-game victory for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton’s softball team Monday, striking out four and walking two to knock off Murray County Central. Galiya Bitton was 1-for-4 with three RBIs, Jenna Stoneberg had a double and Kate Johnston was 1-for-2 with three runs to lead the Panthers (10-4).

The Rebels (8-4) had three players leave the yard, as Courtney Blomgren and Sophie Nepp (2-for-3) had back-to-back homers and Jade Giese had a two-run homer for MCC.

MCC will host Edgerton/Southwest Christian Thursday.
