PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: T-M-B knocks off RCW 8-6

TRACY — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton scored eight runs in the first two innings to defeat Renville County West 8-6 in baseball action Monday.

Taylor Hoffbeck got the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven and giving up three earned runs, while going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI at the plate for T-M-B (8-4). J.C. DeWitte was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs and Jordan Lanous was 2-for-4 for the Panthers.

T-M-B will play at Milroy Wednesday versus Wabasso.

Minneota 8, SWU 7

MINNEOTA — Southwestern United’s baseball team fell to 0-13 on the season Monday.

Justin Jass was 1-for-4 with three runs, Jacob Post was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Riley Place was 2-for-3 with a double for SWU.

The Wildcats will host Adrian today.

Fairmont 2, LHS 1

FAIRMONT — Luverne’s baseball team scored a run in the top of the ninth, but Fairmont answered with two in the bottom half to walkoff the Cardinals Monday in baseball action.

Cody Christensen was 2-for-3 with a single and an RBI, Gunnar Olson was 1-for-1 with a run, a double and an RBI and Skylar Wenninger was 2-for-3 for Luverne (8-4).

Reed Skattum pitched 8 2/3 innings, striking out eight, walking five, giving up three hits and two earned runs for LHS.

LHS will host a doubleheader with Marshall today.
