PREP SOFTBALL: Arrows pitching gives up 8 hits in 3 victories

PIPESTONE — The Pipestone Area softball team added three more to the win column Saturday at the Arrows’ home tournament, pushing the team’s record to 17-0 on the season.

PIPESTONE — The Pipestone Area softball team added three more to the win column Saturday at the Arrows’ home tournament, pushing the team’s record to 17-0 on the season.

The Arrows gave up a total of eight hits in the three victories, as PA defeated Valley City (N.D.) 12-0 in Game 1 in five innings, Watertown (S.D.) 11-1 in Game 2 in six innings and Sioux Falls Fusion 8-1 in Game 3 in seven innings.

In Game 1, Tasia Woelber got the victory on the mound, striking out five and walking none in three innings of work before handing the ball to Kelly Nettick, who struck out two and walked none in the final two innings.

Amanda Haupert was 3-for-3 with a double, a grand slam and five RBIs and Tiffany Woelber was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Arrows at the plate in Game 1.

In Game 2, Tasia Woelber went all six innings, striking out nine and walking two on the mound and going 2-for-3 at the plate for the Arrows. Nettick had a triple and two RBIs and Mikayla Enger had a double and two RBIs for the Arrows in Game 2.

In the final contest, Tasia Woelber went the distance again, striking out 13 and walking one in seven innings on the mound for the Arrows. At the plate for PA, Haupert was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Cassie Evans was 3-for-4 and Enger was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

PA will host Murray County Central Thursday.
