PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: E/SWC beats ML/B-O in 8

EDGERTON — After Edgerton/Southwest Christian’s baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, Derek Claar singled in the bottom of the eighth inning to score Damon Vander Maten to give the Flying Dutchmen an 8-7 win over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin.

EDGERTON — After Edgerton/Southwest Christian’s baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, Derek Claar singled in the bottom of the eighth inning to score Damon Vander Maten to give the Flying Dutchmen an 8-7 win over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin.

Claar was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Vander Maten was 3-for-4 with three runs, Blake Jouwstra was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Luke Nibbelink was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Jesse Berning was 2-for-4 with two runs to lead E/SWC (3-9).

Jordan Kirk was 2-for-4, Beau Herrig was 2-for-5 and Andrew Hempeck was 4-for-4 with two runs to lead ML/B-O (8-8).

E/SWC will host Adrian today.

LAMBERTON — Only two of Wabasso’s 11 runs were earned as Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove’s baseball team made seven errors.

The Falcons fell to 10-6 overall and will travel to Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin today.
