Notice of Public Hearing - Amending Chapter Four of City Charter

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the City Council of the City of Worthington, Minnesota (the “City”) will meet on June 11, 2012 at 7:05 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 303 Ninth Street, Worthington, Minnesota 56187, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on a proposed ordinance amending chapter four of the Worthington City Charter as follows:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND WORTHINGTON CITY CHARTER CHAPTER FOUR BY ADDING SECTION 4.17 ENTITLED CULTURAL EXCHANGES

The City Council of the City of Worthington Do Ordain:

SECTION 1.

Upon recommendation of the Charter Commission for the City of Worthington dated May 8, 2012, Chapter Four of the Worthington City Charter is hereby amended to add Section 4.17 which shall read as follows:

Section 4.17, Historical Partnerships

The City Council may authorize expenditures for one or more designated City officials to serve as official City of Worthington representatives to Crailsheim, Germany, Cuero, Texas, and such other destinations that have a historical partnership/significance to the City as the City Council may from time to time determine by resolution. The City Council may also authorize such minor expenses for the enhancement and support of the recognized historical partnerships.

SECTION 2.

This ordinance shall be effective ninety days after its passage and publication.

The public hearing is required by Minn. Statute 410.12, Subd. 7. Written comments may be submitted to Janice Oberloh, City Clerk of the City of Worthington, Minnesota at her office located at 303 Ninth Street, Worthington, Minnesota 56187 until 5:00 p.m. on June 11, 2012. Immediately following the public hearing, the City Council will meet to consider the reading and adoption of the proposed ordinance.
