Notice to Bidders - 2012 Bituminous Pavement Improvements
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Worthington, Minnesota, until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of City Hall by a bid opening committee. The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered publicly by the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 in Council Chambers, 303 Ninth Street.
2012 BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS
Approximate Major Quantities: 1,845 CY Common Excavation, 680 CY Aggregate Base, 750 CY Open Graded Aggregate Base, 320 SY 7 Concrete Pavement, 2,015 Ton Plant Mixed Bituminous Mix and 220 LF Concrete Curb.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, money order or bid bond for at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Worthington, which amount shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder, upon the letting of the contract to him, shall fail to enter into the contract so let.
Plans, specifications, proposal forms and contract documents as prepared by the City Engineer may be seen at the City Engineer's office.
Contractors desiring a copy of the Proposal Forms, Plans and Specifications, may obtain them from the office of the City Engineer, P. O. Box 279, Worthington, MN 56187. A non refundable payment of $13.97, plus applicable sales tax, ($15.00 total) per set of plans and specifications is required at the time of purchase.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to award the contract to the best interests of the City.
All proposals must be addressed to City Clerk, City Hall, P. O. Box 279, 303 9th St, Worthington, MN 56187, and shall be endorsed thereon "BID FOR THE 2012 BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS."
