Letter: Obama resorts to gay-marriage gamble

On May 9, President Obama came out of the closet and announced that he is now in favor of same-sex marriage. Of course, anyone with half a brain knows he always was and that he just wanted to be president. Now that nationwide polls show that a slight majority agree with him, he has “evolved.”

Although this position is a huge political gamble (30 states, including most swing states, have voted same-sex marriage down), desperate people do desperate things. An even bigger problem is that most thinking Americans do not see it as an important enough issue to change their vote.

I also thought evolution was supposed to make people smarter. Allowing gays to marry only exposes them to the same nightmares heterosexuals experience — divorce lawyers, alimony and fighting over assets.

If homosexuals were smart, they would be running with terror from legalizing their relationships. Unfortunately, most of them are just as dumb as the rest of us.
