PREP SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL SEEDINGS: It's playoff time

WORTHINGTON — It’s that time of the season where the weather gets hotter just in time for softball and baseball games to have more on the line.

It’s playoff time.

Softball seedings have come out for area squads for softball and baseball.

In softball, Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin is the No. 6 seed in the Section 2A South brackets and will take on No. 3 seed Martin County West at 5 p.m. at Martin County West Tuesday. In the Section 3A South playoffs No. 8 seed Southwestern United will take on top-seeded Wabasso at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Wabasso, while No. 5 seed Murray County Central will take on No. 4 seed Lakeview at 4:30 p.m. at Wabasso Tuesday.

On the other side of the bracket for the 3A South, Edgerton/Southwest Christian earned the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 7 seed Adrian Area at 3 p.m. in Edgerton Tuesday and No. 6 seed Windom will take on No. 3 seed Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 4:30 p.m. in Edgerton Tuesday.

In the 3AA South for softball, top-seeded Pipestone Area will host No. 8 seed Red Rock Central/Westbrook Walnut Grove at 3 p.m. Tuesday and No. 5 seed St. James will follow at 4:30 p.m. versus Worthington at Pipestone. Luverne earned a No. 6 seed and will take on the No. 3 seed Jackson County Central at New Ulm Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

In Section 3A South for baseball, top-seeded Murray County Central will take on Russell-Tyler-Ruthton or Edgerton/Southwest Christian at 11 a.m. in Slayton on May 26, while T-M-B will take on No. 4 seed Springfield in Slayton at 1 p.m. on May 26.

ML/B-O will host Adrian or Southwestern United at 11 a.m. in Mountain Lake on May 26 and No. 6 seed Windom and No. 3 seed Wabasso will follow at 1 p.m.

In 3AA South action, No. 6 seed Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove will take on No. 3 seed Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta May 26 at 1 p.m. in Montevideo.

No. 5 seed Luverne will take on No. 4 seed JCC May 26 at 1 p.m. in Fairmont and No. 6 seed Pipestone Area and No. 3 seed Worthington will play at 1 p.m. at New Ulm on the same day.
