WINDOM — Windom closed the regular season in baseball action Monday, shutting out Southwestern United 10-0.
Travis Janssen led the way for Windom, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run. Andy Pfeffer was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, Danny Kneeland was 1-for-2 with one RBI and two runs, Brandon Thongvivong was 1-for-4 with a run, Jake Holt was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, Collin Lovell was 1-for-2 with a run and Jacob Johnson was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI to help pace the Eagles.
Sal Caballero got the win on the mound for the Eagles, striking out six, walking one and giving up three hits in six innings of work.
Justin Jass, Luke Henkels and Mark Ferguson each had hits to lead Southwestern United.
Jass picked up the loss, giving up three earned runs on two walks and two hits, while striking out one in one inning for the Wildcats. Jacob Post, Ferguson, Troy Cranston and Dakotah Schmid went the rest of the way, giving up five earned runs on five walks and eight hits to go along with two strikeouts combined.
Windom will take on Wabasso Saturday at Mountain Lake and SWU will travel to Adrian today to take on the Dragons to open up the postseason for both teams.
