Local filing at close of Day 1

WORTHINGTON — Tuesday marked the first day of filings across Minnesota, including those for county commissioner. With a variety of changes across commissioner districts, there is sure to be more than a few new names popping up across southwest Minnesota.

WORTHINGTON — Tuesday marked the first day of filings across Minnesota, including those for county commissioner. With a variety of changes across commissioner districts, there is sure to be more than a few new names popping up across southwest Minnesota.

Filings for county commissioner at the close of Day 1 include:

Jackson County: District 1, Richard Erickson and Mike Handzus; District 3, Rosemary Schultz, District 4, Kim Hummel, District 5, David Henkels.

Nobles County: District 2, Lonnie Roloff, District 3, David Benson and Robert Paplow, District 4, Michael Kuhle.

Pipestone County: District 2, Harold Butch Miller, District 5, Jerry Remund.

Rock County: District 1, Ken Hoime, District 2, Ron Boyenga, District 5, Jane Wildung Lanphere.

The filing period is open through June 5.
