Scribe of Siouxland winners announced
LUVERNE — Winners were announced Wednesday in the Manfred Scribe of Siouxland Prose and Poetry contests in Luverne.
LUVERNE — Winners were announced Wednesday in the Manfred Scribe of Siouxland Prose and Poetry contests in Luverne. First place winners in each category earned $100; second earned $75 and third earned $50.
Categories and winners are as follows:
Adult Prose: Robert Wratz, first; Ann Ricketts, second; Jeanne Prekker, third; and Danelle Hamilton, honorable mention.
Adult Poetry: Diane Jepperson, first; Laurie Lindemann, second; Danelle Hamilton, third; and Mary Whitehead, honorable mention.
Ages 13-18 Prose: Alizabeth Prekker, first; and Andrew Prekker, second.
Ages 13-18 Poetry: Autumn Norman, first; and Matthew Norman, second.
Ages 12 & Younger Prose: Connor Overgaard, first; Tryg Gangstad, second; Trista Baustian, third; and Levi Thielbar, honorable mention.
Ages 12 & Younger Poetry: Haleah Soto, first.
Several of the first place winners will be reading Saturday night during the Blue Mounds Writers Series.
