AMATEUR BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Hadley tops Cubs 8-7 in 10

HADLEY — After scoring seven runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for a win in their last game, the Worthington Cubs were on the wrong end of another wild one Sunday, falling to Hadley 8-7 in 10 innings in amateur baseball action.
Alex Petersen worked a walk with the bases loaded to score Max Zwart (3-for-4, RBI) in the bottom of the 10th inning to earn the victory for Hadley.
Worthington’s Mitch Jenssen (2-for-6, HR) started the top of the ninth with a single and stole second base before Josh Wasmund knocked in the go-ahead run with a double to make it 7-6 Cubs.
Hadley answered in the bottom of the ninth when Nate Wieneke scored on Eric Wieneke’s two-out double to tie things up and send the game to extras, setting the stage for Petersen’s walk to win it. Eric Wieneke was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Buttermakers.
Joey Kinley was 2-for-3 with two homers, Adam Munkel was 3-for-5 with two doubles and pitched six innings, giving up one earned run, and Jerrad Meinders was 4-for-5 to lead Worthington (3-2).
Zach Bruns got the win on the mound for Hadley, pitching the final two innings, and Joe Larson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Hadley (2-4).
Worthington will host Mountain Lake Wednesday and Hadley will travel to Adrian Wednesday.

Minneota 10, Adrian 5
ADRIAN — Minneota scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, knocking off Adrian in Gopher League amateur baseball action Sunday.
Matt Musser got the win on the mound, throwing 5 1/3 innings, while Jason MacKinnon had three hits, Jesus Macias had three hits, two runs and two RBIs and Jason Myhre had three hits to lead Minneota.
Justin Wolf had two hits and an RBI and Glen Kruger had two RBIs for Adrian (2-4).
Adrian will host Hadley Wednesday.

WILMONT — Steven Kremer was 2-for-4, Justin Saufley was 2-for-2 and Lucas Henning hit a grand slam, as Wilmont crushed Minneota Gopher League action Sunday.
Wilmont will travel to Luverne Wednesday
