LAMBERTON — The Okabena Legion baseball team opened up its season with a 15-11 over Lamberton behind four runs in the top of the seventh Monday.
Alex Meyer hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to put Okabena (1-0) ahead by two. Meyer also got the win in relief, pitching 1 2/3 innings, striking out three and giving up no hits, while also adding three runs scored at the plate. Eric Jazz was 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs for Okabena, while Kyle Elder was 2-for-4 with three runs and Luke Henkels was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI to help pace Okabena.
Okabena will take on Worthington today in Heron Lake.
