LEGION BASEBALL: Worthington Legion knocks off Okabena 12-2

HERON LAKE — Blake Rogers was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Lucas Henning hit a two-run homer and Alex Hayenga had a two-run single to lead Worthington’s legion baseball team over Okabena 12-2 in six innings Tuesday in Heron Lake in the opener for Worthington.
Jon Reller pitched three innings to get the win on the mound for Worthington.
Eric Jass was 2-for-3 with a run, Kyle Elder was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run and Justin Jass had an RBI single to lead Okabena (1-1).
Okabena will be in Jackson for a doubleheader Friday and Worthington will be at Edgerton Monday.

Edgerton 5, Slayton 2
EDGERTON — The Edgerton legion baseball team knocked off Slayton Tuesday in the opener for both teams.
Dominic Nibbelink was 2-for-3 with a run, Devin Jouwstra was 1-for-3 with a run and Jesse Berning was 1-for-2 with an RBI to lead Edgerton. Dominic Nibbelink got the win on the mound, pitching five innings and giving up two runs on three hits, while Luke Nibbelink pitched the final two innings for the save.
Nate Wieneke was 1-for-2 with two runs and Trent Carlson was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Slayton.
Edgerton will head to Pipestone Friday and Slayton will host Luverne Friday.
