BARC hosts health-related class

WINDOM — The Business, Arts & Recreation Center (BARC) Education Connection program will host a class, “Music – Medicine from a Different Bottle” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 14 in Room 10. BARC is located at 1012 Fifth Ave.

This class will introduce attendees to the benefits of live music in a hospital, nursing home or hospice facility/setting. Kathy Fransen, the course instructor, is a harpist and also a hospice coordinator. She has completed extensive research on this topic that she will share. The evening class will include a presentation of live harp music.

There is a cost for attendance. Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) have been approved for social workers and nurses. If CEUs are requested, there is an additional fee. A certificate of attendance will also be included.
